It takes a special person to wear the uniform of a Firefighter or Emergency Medical Technician. Someone with a desire to help others. Someone with courage and dedication, enthusiasm, and a willingness to learn new skills and face new challenges. If you think you might be interested in becoming a volunteer firefighter or EMT, we have an exciting opportunity for YOU!
Join the Rockland County Fire & EMS Training Youth Academy. This 6-week program will introduce you to the Fire and Emergency Services provided in Rockland County. You will receive classroom and hands-on training in firefighting, first aid and rescue operations. You will gain life-saving skills and become certified in Cardio-Pulmonary Resuscitation (CPR).
The Fire & EMS Youth Academy meets one evening each week and one Saturday at the Rockland County Fire Training Center in Pomona, NY.
